Consultancy, planning and implementation – everything under one roof

On 16 November 2023, the Hammer Retail Store at Königstrasse 168 opened its doors to customers, showcasing a completely new design on the opening day, which is reflected in the store’s fresh look, product presentation and the use of digital consulting tools, among other things.

In line with the guiding principle “Beautiful rooms – making it completely uncomplicated for our customers”, the store itself focuses on offering customer consultancy and inspiration.

The Hammer Speciality Store in Minden has been an established name in interior design in the region for over 40 years. “It’s time for change, which we want to implement first at the Minden location in order to rethink and develop topics such as customer consultation, inspiration and product presentation. For us, this is a pilot project that will show us the way to the future,” reports Managing Director Christoph Wackerbauer.

What’s New
After several weeks of remodelling, the store has been given a unique look, from the exterior façade to the entrance area and interior. The new store design on the approximately 1,700 square metre sales area looks bright and friendly, ultra-modern and neat and tidy.

The size of the sales area has been adjusted, which was previously 3,000 square metres. Among other things, this allows us to focus even more on consultations and space ideas offered in the store. “We have rethought the presentation of goods and take-away items in Minden, are specialising more in personal consultations that pursue the goal of holistic interior design, and offer many state-of-the-art inspiration areas,” says Clemens Häufele, Hammer Sales Manager. The Hammer logo, which has been given a facelift as part of the redesign of the store, is also modern. Another design element, in the form of a multi-coloured “Hs”, is being used for the first time in Minden.

Another focus: One-stop shopping – consulting, planning and implementation
Even if the design differs fundamentally from the more than 200 Hammer stores to date, the company continues to rely on its comprehensive services in the form of consultation, planning and implementation.

Our employees provide customers with on-site consultation and personalised support at the store. They cater to their wishes and ideas and use digital consultation tools such as a room planner to create customised interior designs. Special configurators are also used in the areas of bathrooms and beds.

“What type of floor, curtain or wallpaper suits my my home best?” Specialist advice is often needed for questions like these. Our team, consisting of certified interior design consultants and specialist salespeople, provides customers with guidance and advice. “We have given the team comprehensive training to ensure that customers receive expert advice on everything from floors and walls to window decorations and sun protection. We also present cross-range consultancy at our other locations. This allows us to focus on the entire home with all its facets and is what sets us apart as a branch-based interior decorator,” says Jan-Christoph Kolisch, Hammer District Manager.

Once the desired products have been selected and individually planned, it’s time for the implementation: if customers lack the time or energy to beautify their living spaces themselves, they can make use of our comprehensive crafts services such as the laying, installation, painting, wallpapering and decoration service. “With our more than 900 employed craftspeople, we offer professional quality in all aspects of beautiful living. And although the subject of a shortage of skilled labour is on everyone’s lips, especially in our industry, we have been consistently well positioned for many years,” reports Clemens Häufele.
