The floods had taken many people by surprise in mid-July and resulted in images of destruction. Hammer was not spared either: the specialist store in Euskirchen was flooded and consequently had to be rebuilt. The grand reopening was celebrated on Thursday, 30 September 2021.

Employees lend a hand

The sight that presented itself to the staff after the flooding was terrifying. Water and mud stood several centimeters high in the aisles and rooms of the market. The sales area had to be gutted and then rebuilt and redesigned. During the renovation, it was above all the employees who lend a hand. “Our thanks go to you, you have done an outstanding job with the utmost commitment and thus contributed to the quick reopening,” emphasizes District Manager Frank Meyer.
